Night tour of the Jewish quarter of Sagunto. After the assault on the Jewish quarter of Valencia in 1391, the Saguntine aljama took over from Valencia and became the most important of the Kingdom.
Sagunto is not only the Spanish city where better tracing its old Jewish quarter is preserved but also has more remains of objects, spaces and unique buildings once part of the daily life of this minority community.
The visit offers an educational and entertaining vision. We will see the only medieval Hebrew home and will access into the courtyard of the synagogue and the mikveh (ritual bath).
For travel flashlights will be necessary, as we descend from the castle along the old stone road. A different route full of surprises …
